Hi Riptide!

I hope everyone has had a relaxing August! I wanted to send one more email this summer to officially wrap up our season. 

Thank you all for a great season and welcoming me back as your head coach! We ended up going 3-2, getting first place at Relay Carnival, breaking 5 team records, and winning the Division 10 Sportsmanship Award! Our team raised and donated over $1500 for Willing Warriors, donated over 300 pounds of goods for Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (WFCM), and conducted a successful supply drive for Sunrise Day Camp, donating over $1900 worth of goods across our division. Thank you all for your generosity this year! 

Over the course of the summer, our team achieved 691 personal bests and total time dropped was 1,671 seconds (or 27 minutes and 51 seconds). Congratulations to all of our swimmers!

Pick up awards packets!

The remaining awards packets from the banquet will be available for pickup at the pool at the lifeguard office! If you have not picked up your awards packet, please do so ASAP at the lifeguard office. Please contact Amy Cunningham with questions ([email protected]). 

Winter Swim- Everyone is encouraged to sign up!

Sign up for our winter swim program! Keep the Riptide fun going all year long! Virginia Run Riptide's Winter Swim Program is the perfect way to keep skills sharp and progress steady through the off-season. Whether your swimmer wants to fine-tune their strokes, improve endurance, or just stay connected with teammates, this program delivers.

• When: Sundays, September 13, 2026 – May 23, 2027
• Time: 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM
• Where: Cub Run Rec Center, Chantilly
• Cost: $500 for 32 sessions
• No Practice Dates: 11/29, 12/27, 1/3, 2/7, 3/28
• Stay tuned for a spirit night at Red Robin in October!

We want as many neighbors as possible to be on our team! Please spread the word and encourage your neighbors to join the team in 2027! As a reminder, please do your best to save vacations for August when swim team is over. If you are already planning to go out of town during swim season, please consider leaving after the A meet or leaving vacation a little early so that you're there for the meet.
