Virginia Run Riptide

Coach Katie has been coaching with the Riptide since 2024. She has previously coached at Centreville HS, currently is the head coach for Westfield HS, and coaches for the Potomac Marlins. 

I've been on the Virginia Run Riptide for my whole swimming career starting when i was around 10 years old. I swam all throughout middle school, and all 4 years of high school, where in my senior season I was voted team captain of the Westfield Bulldogs swim and dive team, and also named to the first team all district, first team all region, and 2nd team all state in my finals HS season. I love the sport of swimming and can't wait to begin the season.

For my previous years of Riptide I have been a 2 time Volunteer coach, and last year i was in the senior coach position. And for the 2024 season I am in the assistant coach position and cannot wait to begin coaching and seeing what great swimmers we have. Roll Tide!

I am super excited to be back and involved with the Virginia Run Riptide!

I swam with the Virginia Run Riptide from ages six to eighteen years old. I swam all four years of high school on the varsity swim team at Wakefield School, where I was team captain and 3 time team MVP. I also received the Wakefield School Athletic Director’s Award for Excellence and Honor for my swimming performance.

Throughout my college years I was a 4 year member and team captain of the Roanoke College Mens Swim Team. I have been named 1st Team All Conference and team MVP as well as ODAC conference champion in the 50 freestyle and multiple relays. A graduate of Roanoke, I have a degree in Health and Exercise Science.

I was a Jr Coach, Sr. Coach, Assistant Head Coach and Head Coach for the Virginia Run Riptide through 2021. I returned as the Head Coach of the VR Riptide Developmental Program in 2022 and am excited to be back at Cub Run for 2023-2024. Go Riptide!
