Coach Patrick’s Corner:
We pulled off another win against South Run yesterday to close out our 2026 A meets!! We will finish the season 3-2 and as D10 Relay Carnival Champions!! Great job Riptide!! I'm looking forward to our last B meet tomorrow night and watching our swimmers swim fast, cheer for their teammates, and show great sportsmanship.
Congratulations to our Riptide seniors who we honored at yesterday's meet!
Congratulations to Tyler Harris for breaking two team records- 13-14 free and back, breaking our team record from 2009!
We're in the home stretch of our 2026 season- next weekend is Divisionals! You will be notified by me if your swimmer(s) will be swimming in Divisionals by Tuesday. Divisionals practice starts on Wednesday.
Practice schedule this week:
Monday- regular practice times
Tuesday- all age group practice 9:30am-11am (PLEASE WEAR YOUR 2026 TEAM SHIRT)
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday- practice for divisionals swimmers only- 12&U: 9am-10am. 13&Ups: 10am-11am
Beast of the Week!: Congrats to the following swimmers who earned the “Beast of the Week” award this past week:

Riptide Volunteering: We know many of you have completed or exceeded the required volunteer jobs and we greatly appreciate that! At this point in our season, we are asking for extra help to have a strong finish to our season.

Be on the lookout for an email asking for volunteers to help out at our End of the Season Party which will be held on Saturday, July 25th!
Divisionals are coming up soon! If you have a swimmer who is likely to participate in the divisionals meet, you will receive an email about volunteering on that day.

Riptide Swimmer Conduct Reminders: Please take a few moments to review the Riptide Code of Conduct with your swimmer prior to practices this week. As a team we value respect, teamwork, integrity and sportsmanship. Any violations of the Riptide Swimmer Code of Conduct will be handled as stated in the Code of Conduct. Use of inappropriate language, bullying, inappropriate touching, biting, etc will not be tolerated and will be addressed immediately.

Riptide Challenge Update: Congrats to everyone who has already completed the challenge! Great job, Riptide swimmers!
Monday is the last meet to complete the Riptide Challenge! Make waves, keep improving, and earn your bag tag!

Spiritwear Reminders: Spirit Wear will be available for sale during our last home meet. We will be selling discounted Relay Carnival Shirts, Riptide swim caps, car magnets, car flags, and tattoos. Get your gear before the season ends! [email protected]

Last Day of Regular Practice Pizza 7/21: Pizza & Juice Box
Celebrating the last day of regular Riptide Practice with pizza! Wear this year’s Riptide Team Shirt on Tuesday so we can get a picture as a thank you Pin Oak for donating them!
How It Works:
Since Tuesday is our last regular team practice, all ages will be from 9:30am – 11am, kind of like a fun Friday! Around 10:30ish we will be providing pizza & juice boxes for all swimmers (sorry, no family) and will have all candy/chips/drinks leftover from concessions on a fire sale for $1 each!
Please send your swimmer with a few $1 bills if they want to participate in the fire sale (we have no change, so don’t get stuck with $20 worth of airheads). Pizza and a juice box are free.
This event is for Riptide swimmers only.
We will have Cheese & Pepperoni.
Virginia Run Riptide's 2026 End of Season Pool Party!
Saturday July 25th 6PM-9:30PM (rain date: Sunday, July 26th) @The Pool
Come celebrate the end of another amazing season with the Virginia Run Riptide swimmers! Featuring Coaches’ Awards, desserts (Kona Ice, cookies), games (penny dives, hula contest and freeze dance) and the traditional Riptide video, the night is sure to be one to remember. DJ Troy will have a night full of lively music and fun! Please note, this event is free to all swimmers and their immediate family and we remind families to eat dinner before they come.
We are sponsoring a Riptide Cookie Table and we want to fill it with all our favorite cookies for you to test taste or take home. We ask that each family bring at minimum 1dozen of their favorite cookies – you can bake or buy – whatever is easier. Can’t wait to see your cookies!Please look for a email Monday night with more details.
