Division 10 Relay Carnival!

Hello Riptide Families!

We are only 1 week away from Relay Carnival and it's time to get excited! This is possibly the best meet of the NVSL season and we have the privilege of hosting it at our pool! Please read on for some general information about Relay Carnival.

What: Division 10 Relay Carnival! This is a fast paced meet that includes only relay events. Each team in our Division will be represented at the meet.  Swimmers for Riptide relays will be selected by Coach Patrick based on our team ladder. If you have a swimmer that usually swims in a relay on Saturday, there is a good chance they will be invited to swim at Relay Carnival.

When: Wednesday, July 8th Meet begins @ 6:30, swimmers in a relay and volunteers will be required to arrive early for warm-ups

Where: Our Pool!

How will I know if my child is swimming? Swimmers participating in Relay Carnival will be announced next week on Tuesday 7/7. You'll receive a detailed email with information about volunteering, warm ups, t-shirts, etc. If you have not already done so, please declare your swimmer for Relay Carnival as soon as possible!

Volunteering: As with all of our divisional meets, if you have a child swimming at Relay Carnival it is expected that at least one parent will volunteer at the meet.  Volunteering at Relay Carnival is above and beyond your regular volunteering and does not count toward your volunteer requirement for the season.  Please note that we are assigned specific volunteer slots by the Division that we are required to fill in addition to the volunteer slots that we incur as the host team.  It is likely that you will be assigned a slot by our volunteer coordinator. Please be on the lookout for an email from Stefanie McCrea if you have a swimmer participating in Relay Carnival

Can we still come to meet if our child isn't swimming? Absolutely!  Don't miss out on the fast races and energy of Relay Carnival.  Come cheer on our Riptide swimmers, grab a t-shirt and enjoy dinner and dessert from the Riptide Cafe.
We'll even have Nothing Bundt Cakes for sale!

Special Event at Relay Carnival! We'll have Melanie Bomberg from Sunrise Day Camp Greater Washington at Relay Carnival hosting a "Clear the List"  supply donation event.  Sunrise Day Camp is a not for profit day camp for children with cancer and their siblings. The camp offers daily swimming activities for campers as well as other fun activities and events.  In order to make the camp successful they need lots of supplies. This is a great opportunity for Riptide and the other Division 10 teams to give back! More details to come.

More info on Relay Carnival will be coming soon!  Let's get excited!

Go Riptide!
