Hello Riptide Families,

We hope the Fall is off to a great start for all of you!  The Riptide Board met  this past Sunday to close out the 2025 season and open the 2026 season (yes already!).  

Head Coach Update:  The board voted to open up our head coach position to broaden our applicant pool for the 2026 season.  We'll be posting the opening on the NVSL website later in the winter.

Volunteers Needed for Key Positions: We have a few key positions that we are looking to fill for 2026.  We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator and a IT/Tech/Website Coordinator.  A big thank you to Toni Garcia who has filled both of these roles for the past several years.  Below are descriptions of both jobs.  If you are interested in learning more about either (or both!) please reach out.  Toni has offered to train new volunteers and help make the transition as smooth as possible.  

Volunteer Coordinator (partially exempt) - help with setting up, organizing, and filling volunteer slots. 

 IT/Tech/Website coordinator (partially exempt). This position had many roles including

• Maintain and Update Swimtopia website
• Maintain and Update URL domain hosting (GoDaddy)
• Maintain and Update GMAIL workspace hub
• Maintain and Update Shopify store and website (I have ideas for transitioning from this to Swimtopia store)
• Maintain and Update POS credit card reader

NVSL All Stars Host: Former Riptide coach Patrick Kearney approached the Riptide Board at the end of the summer about an exciting opportunity for our pool to host the NVSL Individual All Stars meet.  Patrick and a few board members met with the NVSL representative to walk our pool and learn more about the logistics of hosting.  After thoughtful discussion at our October meeting the Riptide Board voted to support Patrick with moving forward to submit a proposal to host.  Anne Crowell and Patrick also met with the HOA Board to discuss this opportunity and get their approval.  The HOA Board is also in support.  Patrick will move forward with a proposal to the NVSL in the coming weeks.  If our pool is chosen, Patrick will lead the All Star planning committee.  Stay tuned for more info!
